We are deliberately brief here. What CivitasOPS does in detail is worth half an hour on a parcel you already know, not a page a competitor can read over your shoulder. What we will put in writing is the part you can hold us to.
What it is for
CivitasOPS installs on a Windows laptop and takes on the work between a signed contract and the first billable hour — the reading, the checking and the arithmetic a firm repeats on every job and can never quite bill for. One application, one licence, and the same answer every time.
Every measurement is computed. Numbers are arithmetic — nothing about them is a guess, on any setting.
The promise
Your clients' documents stay on the computer you run the software on. There is no upload of an original document to us at any point, no hosted copy, and no index of your projects anywhere but your own machines. This is not a plan tier or a privacy setting: it is the shape of the product, and the reason it exists.
The second promise follows from the first. Because the work happens on your machine, it keeps happening when the connection does not — which is most of the places your crews actually stand.
Working as a firm
A firm can let its people work a project together. Sharing is off until the firm turns it on, it is turned on for the firm rather than by whoever is curious, and the original documents stay where they were read — a colleague who needs the original is told whose desk to ask. What crosses the wire stays inside your own firm's systems. It never comes to us.
What your IT department will ask

Your security review will have longer questions than these. Ask them — we answer them in writing, under an NDA if your client requires one.
What it runs on
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and the laptops your crews already carry — no server, no graphics card, nothing new to buy. Setup wants one good connection and some disk space on the day you install it; after that the machine is yours, signal or no signal.
Licences
Per seat, issued to the firm, and moved to a replacement laptop by whoever runs your IT rather than by us. No charge per page, per project or per acre — a firm should never have to decide whether a parcel is worth running.
